LOWELL, Mass. - This weekend, the Assumption University women's rowing team traveled to Lowell for the UMass Lowell Invitational for their penultimate race of the spring season
Under cloudy skies with a strong headwind, the Greyhounds took to the Merrimac River to face off against Franklin Pierce and the University of New Hampshire in the women's varsity eight. Despite the rough conditions, the team posted its best time of the season, completing the course in 8:22.5, behind Franklin Pierce (8:01.9) and UNH (7:15.2).
Bella Baker once again coxed the crew with
Bella Perryman in the stroke seat, followed by
Olivia Shan, Katie Ickes, Izzy Anzalone,
Nicole St. Germaine,
Brianna Rawlston,
Hannah Pennings, and
Carly Duval sitting bow.
"While we're still trailing in the results, I couldn't be prouder of this group as they have continually demonstrated improvement from week to week," said David Deiuliis, Women's Rowing Coach.
The Greyhounds are back in action next weekend when they complete their spring season at New England Rowing Championships on Lake Quinsigamond.
