HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out of the gates with a lot of energy and took advantage of the moment, scoring early and late in the first half to go into the break up 2-0.
Amaia Astiasaran scored the first goal of the season for the Hounds, shooting high in the middle of the net to get on the board eleven minutes into the game. Daemen enjoyed some spells of possession trying to get back into the game before
Kate Carleson fired a shot from outside the box to double Assumption's lead at the 31:42. The visiting side went into the break winning by two.
The second half was not as action-packed compared to the first, however,
Haleigh Ward came close to a third goal when she hit the post early in the action. However, no further damage was done by either side, and the Hounds opened up their season with a 2-0 win on the road.
