BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Assumption University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against D'Youville University on Sunday morning in New York.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption used the momentum from the Daemen game, scoring in the third minute through Ashley Wenzel with Delaney Farinha providing the assist. The rest of the first half was a bit of a battle, with both sides exchanging meaningful bits of possession and chances. Kat Laboissonniere came close on a header which skimmed the post and landed out of bounds. At the half, the Hounds held on to a 4-3 win.
The Saints started on the front foot in the second half, taking multiple shots through Eleonora Cecchini which provided a save out of Kaylah Seavey, who got her first start of the season. The pressure was put on the visitors in the second half, with Assumption looking for a way to hang on. In the 76th minute, Laoise Ohaodha equalized for the visitors off of a defensive mishap, with Jeslyn-Brooke Vallesteros providing the assist. Assumption tried to grab a winner late, with Haley Brown being stonewalled by Kallie Regan and Kate Carleson having her shot saved with only nine minutes to go. It ended with the points being shared at 1-1.
