WORCESTER, Mass. – Jake Cady was named the Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, while four others were named to the Honor Roll mentions as announced by the NE10 Conference office on Monday afternoon.
Cady went 23-for-30 with 334 yards and five touchdown passes while also adding eight rushes for 32 yards and another score in No. 23 Assumption University's 42-29 win at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. His scoring strikes covered 35, 25, 29, 28 and 22 yards. In two games this season, Cady has 517 yards passing with eight touchdowns to just one interception while also posting a 72.13 completion percentage. He currently is third in NCAA Division II in touchdown passes (8).
Honor Roll
Dion Kuinlan recorded eight tackles, one sack, and one fumble return for 26 yards in Assumption's 42-29 win at Southern Connecticut.
Lily Daly recorded two goals in Assumption's 3-1 win against Southern New Hampshire.
Frida Larsson increased her shutout streak to begin the season to 142 minutes, with a shutout at Bentley and 62+ minutes at Mercy before the game was suspended. She logged five saves in over a game and a half.
Barbara Illig had a game-high 27 digs to go along with three aces in Assumption's 3-0 sweep of St. Thomas Aquinas. The Greyhounds are off to their best start since 2012.
