WORCESTER, Mass. – Two Assumption University student-athletes were named the Northeast-10 Conference Players of the Week, as announced by the NE10 Conference office on Monday afternoon.
NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Shakeer McPherson, Assumption
Senior | Defensive Back | North Babylon, N.Y.
McPherson returned a blocked field goal 86 yards for a touchdown in the Greyhounds' 35-28 win at Southern Connecticut. This is his second-career touchdown for Assumption, as he had another 86-yard blocked field goal for a touchdown last season against American International.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Jillian McSorley, Assumption
Junior | Back | Biddeford, Maine
McSorley headlined an Assumption defense that allowed two goals on the week while scoring the game-winning goal at Pace. The overtime winner for the Greyhounds was McSorley's first career shot, which proved vital in the 3-2 win.
