HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half had Assumption written all over it as the Greyhounds appeared flawless. The Hounds turned on the gas from the opening whistle as they brought the attack to Molloy University. Caroline McSweeney had a textbook chance early in the match, although her shot narrowly missed. Assumption never let off the pressure, as Mia Salah opened up the scoring for the Greyhounds off a rebound at 10:19. The second quarter was more of the same action from the Hounds. Elle Murray found the back of the net twice in two minutes, as Daisy Stone assisted Murray's first score. The Hounds outshot the Lions 19-0, as they carried a 3-0 lead into the second half.
The Greyhounds continued their excellent play in the second half. Assumption had several penalty corners to open the half, resulting in a perfectly executed goal scored by McSweeney from May Van Woudenberg's assist. Just 50 seconds later, Mia Salah logged her second score of the game at 36:26. The Lions had no answer for the Greyhounds offense. Assumption carried their momentum into the fourth quarter with an early score by Ellie Bohane. The final goal for the Hounds was recorded by Delaney Novick at 50:45. The Greyhounds rendered Molloy scoreless in a 7-0 victory.
