NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Assumption University field hockey team traveled to New Haven on Tuesday evening and picked up their second straight conference win as they defeated Southern Connecticut State University 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
In the first quarter,
Marta Brzoska got on the board first for Assumption, scoring just 48 seconds into the game.
Lily Daly had a big attempt six minutes later, but her effort was blocked. Two and a half minutes into the second quarter, Brzoska got a second with an assist from Daly this time to put the Hounds up 2-0. Assumption continued to apply the pressure, with more Hounds taking shots.
Caroline McSweeney got the third for Assumption with an assist from
May van Woudenberg right before the half. At halftime, the visitors were leading 3-0.

The third quarter was filled with more penalty corners and shots, with
Callie Beauparlant adding a fourth just three minutes into the third.
Mia Salah added to that with three minutes remaining in the quarter, putting the Greyhounds up 5-0. Assumption continued to apply pressure for the rest of the contest but wasn't able to score anymore. Five would be enough for the big win, as Assumption took a 5-0 win on the road against the Owls.

- The Greyhounds tallied 24 shots compared to six from the Owls, with 15 of the shots going on the frame.
- Paige Gillette made four saves, while Rachel Miller made 10 for the home side.
- The Greyhounds controlled the run of play, tallying 12 corners, with the Owls only taking two.
- Assumption now leads the all-time series 18-20
