THE BASICS
Score: Assumption University 4, Southern New Hampshire University 4

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds had an explosive start to their conference match-up against the Penmen. It took the Hounds just 90 seconds to open the scoring. Ashley Wenzel played a perfect leading-through ball to midfielder, Delany Farinha, who buried a shot in the back of the net on the out-of-position visitors' goalkeeper. The remainder of the first half was physical, with four yellow cards being drawn between both SNHU and Assumption. The Greyhounds appeared to be on the back foot in the latter minutes of the half. However, with two minutes remaining, the Greyhounds took control once again. After receiving a long through ball, Kate Carleson launched a powerful shot into the top right corner of the net, giving Assumption a 2-0 lead heading into the break.

The Penmen struck the Hounds early in the second half. In the 53rd minute of action, the visitors scored on a long shot from well outside the 18-yard box. Three minutes later, the Penmen converted once again, off an inside cross splitting the Hounds defense. Ashley Wenzel answered quickly for the Greyhounds just one minute later, off of Haleigh Ward's corner kick. The one-score lead for the Hounds lasted less than five minutes. SNHU replied with their own score as a loose ball from a Penmen corner kick soared into the goal. After a brief break from the scoring, the Penmen took their first lead of the game. With under 20 minutes to play, a shot to the left middle of the net found the Hounds trailing. Assumption once again had an answer scoring two minutes later, off of another corner, evening the game at 4-4. Both teams were rendered scoreless for the remainder of play, as the game resulted in a draw between Assumption and Southern New Hampshire University.
