HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption controlled the play in the first set, jumping out to a 10-1 lead with multiple attacking and service errors by the Ravens and kills across the board from
Sophia Kane and
Carly Goodhue. The Ravens added points and made the contest more back-and-forth, getting as close as nine at 15-6 off of a service error. Assumption won long points and got more kills from
Anna Dean and Goodhue to take the first set 25-14.
Assumption also got out to a fast start in the second set, going up 3-0 with a kill coming from Kane. A couple of errors from Assumption brought the Ravens closer, but Assumption rattled off four more points to keep the Hounds lead at 10-4. Back-to-back kills from her got Assumption up to 18-10, while solid defense efforts ensured the Ravens could not close in on the lead.
