WORCESTER, Mass - The Assumption University field hockey team battled a close one against Pace University and took down the Setters 1-0 in Northeast-10 field hockey action at Brian Kelly Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Records: Greyhounds (6-4, 5-0 NE10), Setters (6-2, 2-4 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter of play was controlled by Assumption, while
May van Woudenberg got the scoring going with a shot off of a corner with an assist from
Lily Daly. The rest of the quarter saw more pressure from the Hounds, but they did not capitalize on any.
In the second quarter, the Setters tried to apply some pressure on the Hounds. Noelle Meij got a shot on goal, but
Paige Gillette was there to make the safe. Meij also continued to get looks in the third quarter, but once again, Assumption's defense was there to keep the one-goal lead.
Despite getting the early goal, the rest of the game was relatively even, with the Setters pushing to the very end, but the Hounds stood firm. Assumption used their early goal to take this contest 1-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Pace had nine shots compared to four from the Greyhounds.
- Paige Gillette recorded four saves for her fourth shutout of the year.
- This is the Hounds' fifth straight NE10 win.
- Assumption is 10-4 all-time vs. the Setters.
