WORCESTER, Mass. – A 73-yard scoop and score by Jaron Wilson capped off a 36-22 Northeast-10 Conference win for the No. 23 Assumption University football team over Pace University on Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

THE BASICS
Score: No. 23 Assumption University 36, Pace University 22
Records: Greyhounds (3-1, 1-0 NE10) | Setters (1-4, 1-2 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to strike, as Jake Cady connected with Gavin Johnson with a 32-yard touchdown strike to go up 7-0 in the first quarter. The Greyhounds would double their lead early into the second, as Berrell Neal capped off a ten-play, 76-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge. The Setters got on the board the following drive, as Brandon Sobotker scored on a two-yard run. After their two-point conversion was thwarted, Pace forced a pick-six following the ensuing kick-off. Once again, their two-point conversion failed, making it 14-12 Assumption. The Greyhounds responded with another ten-play march, which was capped off with a 33-yard strike to Cameron Reagan, putting the hosts up 21-12 entering halftime.

Pace capitalized on some good field position in the third quarter, as they got a 22-yard field goal from Dylan Squillacioti before the Setters took their first lead of the contest following a five-yard touchdown run (22-21) with 1:38 showing on the clock.

The Greyhounds scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter as the Cady to Johnson connection was completed once again, as the nine-yard strike capped off a 16-play 75-yard drive, making it 29-22 Assumption. Pace responded with a 12-play, 47-yard drive that set them up with a third and five from the Greyhounds' 19. Following a delay of game penalty, Lorenzo Valencia stripped the Setters' signal caller on a scramble, when the ball bounced into the arms of Jaron Wilson, who made a house call with 1:52 showing on the clock. The visitors again got into the plus side of the field, but it was cut short, as Shakeer McPherson sealed the Family Weekend victory for the hosting Greyhounds.
