BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team scored twice on the powerplay but eventually fell to Stonehill College in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stonehill was the first team to score, as Lily Geist scored at the 6:07 marker of the first period. The Greyhounds would trail after 20 minutes, despite outshooting the Skyhawks 17-12.
Assumption opened up the second period on the attack, as Kiersten Browning tied the game on the powerplay at 1:12 of the middle frame. The game would not stay tied for long, as Paige Whaley regained the lead for the hosts five minutes later. The Greyhounds would not go quietly, as Cassandra Johnson netted her second of the season to tie the game at 2-2. Stonehill would cap off the middle frame with a 3-2 advantage after Peyton Wise struck at 8:53.
Early in the third period, Sheridan Terrazzano knotted the game at 3-3 with a powerplay tally at 4:45. Lucie Turcotte put in the fourth goal for the Skyhawks, which would be the eventual game-winner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Carissa Mudrak recorded 32 saves between the pipes for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Stonehill 42-36, while the Skyhawks won 46 of 70 draws.
The Greyhounds went 2-for-8 on the powerplay, while the hosts went 1-for-5.
- Stonehill now leads the all-time series 3-0-0.
