WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team late push was not enough, as the Greyhounds fell to Long Island University in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
LIU was the first team to score, as they broke the scoring with 55 seconds remaining in the opening frame, as Sarah Rourke found the back of the net in the final minute. Anya Weilandt put the Sharks up 2-0 36 seconds into the second period.
The game would remain 2-0 until four minutes left of the third period, when
Jenna Chaplain got the Greyhounds within one with her fifth goal of the year at 16:36. In the final minute of action, Chaplain had a shot from the slot, but she was denied by the Shark's netminder.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Carissa Mudrak logged 29 saves for Assumption.
- Sharks outshot the Greyhounds 31-27, while LIU won 28-of-42 of the faceoff.
- Neither team took a penalty.
- LIU now leads the all-time series 3-0-0.
