BOSTON, Mass. – Led by Ronny Paragallo's first career hat trick, the Assumption University men's ice hockey team defeated the Wentworth Institute of Technology 5-2 in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to score, as Ronny Paragallo netted his 12th goal of the season halfway through the first period. As Nolan Lowe tied the game, Wentworth got on the board early in the second. Four minutes later, the Leopards took their first lead of the game as Cade Penney found the back of the net on the power play. The hosts' lead would not last for long, as Paragallo would strike again, scoring a diving short-handed goal at the 14:26 marker.
In the third period, Ryan Decker regained the Assumption lead, scoring the Greyhounds' second short-handed tally of the day. Paragallo completed his first career hat trick by pushing the Blue and White advantage to 4-2 with 6:19 showing on the clock. Dara Conneely put the capper on the game as he netted an empty-net goal with 3:06 remaining in regulation.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Clement Labillois recorded 24 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Wentworth 27-26, but the Leopards won 37 of 67 faceoffs.
- The Blue and White went 0-for-4 on the man-advantage, while the hosts went 1-for-7.
- Paragallo ran his point streak to six games as he logged three goals. Over that span, he has recorded nine goals and four assists.
- Wentworth continues to lead the all-time series 13-3-2.
