WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team improved to 8-1-0 at home, as the Greyhounds netted two third-period tallies to upend Connecticut College 3-2 in non-conference action Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to strike, as
Jimmy McDermott netted the opening tally at 2:24 of the opening frame. Connecticut College would tie the contest at 1-1 at the 16:13 marker, as Cole Eichler found the back of the net.
After a scoreless second period, the Greyhounds would regain a one-goal advantage at 6:35 of the third period, as
Sean Donoghue scored from right in front of the crease. The Camels answered right back, as Quinn Kennedy beat the Assumption netminder 19 seconds later.
Jonathan Surrette capitalized on a short-handed opportunity, as
Ronny Paragallo freed the freshman winger and beat the Conn. College netminder at the 8:52 marker.
The Camels pulled their netminder with 42 seconds on the clock, but they could not even score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Clement Labillois logged a career-high 46 in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Connecticut College outshot Assumption 48-42, while neither team scored on the powerplay. CC went 0-for-5, and AU was 0-for-6.
- Assumption had the slight edge in the faceoff circle, winning 36 of 70 draws.
- The Greyhounds have tied the 1991-92 Bill Bowes team with 20 wins.
- Assumption is just the second NCAA Men's Ice Hockey team this season to eclipse the 20-win marker, tying Division I Wisconsin.
- Connecticut College still leads the all-time series 10-6.
