WINCHENDON, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team would fall to Franklin Pierce University, 1-0 in the opening minute of the overtime period Saturday evening at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out on the attack, as they outshot Franklin Pierce 15-12 in the opening 20 minutes. The offensive pace slowed in the middle frame, as the two teams combined for 14 shots (8-5, Assumption). The Ravens upped their offensive game in the third period, as they outshot the Greyhounds 12-5, but neither side would score in the 60 minutes.
The game would head to overtime, and on the second shift, Mikayla Kelley netted the game-winner for the hosts as she fired a wrist shot over the left shoulder of the Assumption goaltender.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jadyn Weiser logged 29 saves in the crease for the Hounds.
- Franklin Pierce outshot Assumption 30-29 while also winning 30-of-57 faceoffs.
- Neither team scored on the powerplay, as the Greyhounds were 0-for-4, while the Ravens were 0-for-5.
