WORCESTER, Mass. – Powered by a game-high 12 kills from Carly Goodhue, the Assumption University women's volleyball team defeated Southern New Hampshire University 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon inside Laska Gymnasium.

Records: Greyhounds (6-11, 1-3 NE10) | Penmen (5-13, 1-4 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED
After the two teams traded the first few points, but with the score tied at 8-8, the Greyhounds went on a 17-9 to win the set 25-16, following an attacking error by the Penmen. Southern New Hampshire started the second set strong as they raced out to a 14-6 lead. Assumption would not quit and went on a 17-9 run to tie the second set at 23-23, with Carly Goodhue and Carly Goodhue having three kills. SNHU pushed it to set point, but the Hounds would get a kill by Kaitlyn Montgomery, an ace by Tatiana Calderin, and a kill by Alexis Distasio to take the middle set 27-25. 
 
In the third set, it was all Greyhounds, as they grabbed a 2-1 lead and would not look back. Assumption took the third and final set 25-14, with Goodhue logging four kills. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Goodhue had a game-high 12 kills, Christine Mbachi had seven, while Alexis Distasio and Kaitlyn Montgomery tied with six kills. 
• Natalie Brojek led Assumption with 16 assists, while Marissa Krawczyk had 15. 
• Barbara Illig led the Greyhounds with 22 digs
• Assumption is now 5-2 at home, with two wins against SNHU. 
• The Penmen still leads the all-time series 27-22.
