WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 6 Assumption University field hockey team shut out No. 4 Southern New Hampshire University 1-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup on Wednesday night at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption's lone goal came in historic fashion. One minute into the second quarter,
Mia Salah scored her seventh goal of the season. The goal, assisted by
Taylor Tory, marked Salah's 114
th career collegiate point, making her the new all-time leader in scoring for Assumption field hockey.
The Greyhounds controlled the midfield with an offensive trap, stifling the Penmen transition game. Assumption was shutout 3-0 by SNHU earlier this season and looked to have sharpened their play in the season's most important match to date.
Paige Gillette turned away all five shots fired her way to secure the shutout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mila Salah surpassed Deirdre Burchill (2017-21) for the most points by a Greyhounds, as Burchill recorded 113 career points.
- This is the third NCAA Division II Top-10 team Assumption has beaten this season.
- Assumption outshot SNHU 18-8, with 11 Greyhound shots on goal compared to five for the Penmen.
- The Hounds earned eight corners in the match compared to three for Southern New Hampshire.
- Paige Gillette recorded her eighth shutout of the season, the most by any NE10 goalkeeper.
- Salah has now tallied three goals and five assists in her last five games.
- Assumption leads the all-time series against SNHU 11-3.
