WORCESTER, Mass. – Three Assumption University student-athletes were named the Northeast-10 Conference Players of the Week, as announced by the NE10 Conference office on Monday afternoon.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Owen Fitzgerald, Assumption
Junior | Linebacker | Auburn, Mass.
Fitzgerald recorded 14 tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, and one quarterback hurry as the Greyhounds recorded a 27-7 win at Franklin Pierce on Saturday. He currently ranks second in the conference in tackles and leads the league with three sacks.
NE10 Player of the Week
Dylan Wesley, Assumption
Junior | Forward | Feeding Hills, Mass.
Wesley recorded three goals and added two assists for the No. 16 Greyhounds on the week. He netted the first goal for Assumption against Felician on Wednesday before scoring two goals and adding two assists in the Blue and White's 7-0 win against the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Sunday. His goal in the 8th minute was the game-winning goal against the Bengals. Wesley ranks second in the conference with eight points.
NE10 Player of the Week
Delaney Farinha, Assumption
Senior | Midfield | Preston, Conn.
Farinha recorded three goals in a 2-0-1 week for the Greyhounds. She began the week with two goals at Chestnut Hill, which included the game-winner against the Griffins. Farinha closed out the week with the game-tying goal at Florida Southern in the 57th minute. On the year, she is second in the conference in both goals (3) and points (7).

- Men's Soccer (3-1-0, 0-0-0 NE10) opens NE10 action on Saturday, September 21st, as they take on No. 1 Franklin Pierce at 6:00 pm.
- Women's Soccer (4-0-1, 0-0-0 NE10) returns home on Wednesday, September 18th, as they host the University of Maine at Fort Kent at 2:00 pm before opening up conference action on Friday, September 20th at the University of New Haven.
