WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team dropped the first game of their 2024-25 campaign, as they fell to Anna Maria College on Friday evening in the opening round of the Woo Cup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Anna Maria was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as they opened the scoring at 2:01 and capitalized on a line change to go up 1-0. Assumption answered on the man-advantage later in the frame, as
Jake Lavoie found the back of the net at 14:25 of the first period, with
Ronny Paragallo and
Leo Piandes getting the assists.
The Greyhounds opened up the second period on the powerplay, with Piandes scoring 19 seconds in as he put back
Ryan Decker's initial shot. The AMCats tied the game before the end of the second with a PP goal of their own. AMC secured a spot in Sunday's Championship game with a pair of scores in the third period.

- Thomas McLarnon recorded 23 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Anna Maria 30-27 while winning 36-of-71 faceoffs.
