WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University men's ice hockey team fell to Worcester State University, 4-2, in the consolation game of the 2024 Woo Cup Sunday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lancers struck twice in the first period. Assumption's
Ryan Decker made it a one-goal game after scoring his first goal of the season.
A scoreless second period was kept tense by two power plays for each team. Worcester State struck first in the third period.
Jake DiNapoli scored with the goalie pulled for the Hounds in the third to cut the Lancers lead to 3-2 with 17 seconds left. The game was clinched by a WSU empty-netter seconds later.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Assumption outshot Worcester State 57-32
- WSU went 0-3 on the powerplay, ASM went 0-4.
- Michael Hauswirth made 27 saves for the Hounds.
- Assumption leads the all-time series against Worcester State 40-32-5.
