No. 20/13 Women’s Basketball Powers Past Post University 76-47

WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University women's basketball team opened up their home portion of their schedule with a 76-47 win over Post University in non-conference action Wednesday evening inside Laska Gymnasium. 
 
THE BASICS:

Records: Greyhounds (3-0, 0-0 NE10), Eagles (0-3, 0-2 CACC)
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Marina Callahan and Molly Stokes were in an unstoppable zone from the opening two quarters. The duo poured in 42 points in the first half. The Greyhounds shot 19-of-35 from the floor to command a 45-19 lead heading into halftime. 
 
There was no looking back as the offense relentlessly pursued points and expanded its lead. With 3:49 in the fourth, the Assumption lead would grow to 35 points (76-47). 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • The Greyhounds are ranked in both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (No. 20) and the Division II College Sports Communicators (No. 13). 
  • Molly Stokes led all scorers with 24 points on 10-of-11 shooting.
  • Marina Callahan filled the stat sheet with 22 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and three blocks. 
  • Kaijhe Hall had a near-double-double with nine points and eight boards while adding two blocks. 
  • Assumption shot 50.8 percent from the floor, holding Post to just 28.1 percent. 
  • The Greyhounds lead the all-time series against the Eagles 4-0.
