WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team scored a season-high six goals as the Greyhounds defeated Franklin Pierce University 6-3 in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as
Ronny Paragallo struck with under seven minutes remaining in the first period.
Patrick McKiernan snuck one past the post in the final minute, giving the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead after the opening frame.
Gavin Dach potted his first collegiate goal at 7:27 of the middle frame before Paragallo found the back of the net with 6.1 on the second-period clock.
Franklin Pierce got on the board with two goals in the opening nine minutes of the third period, cutting into the Assumption lead, 4-2.
Sean Donoghue and
Jake DiNapoli halted the Franklin Pierce assault, re-establishing a four-goal advantage for the hosts. The Ravens added a score with 3:34 left in regulation, but it would not be enough as the Hounds remained undefeated in NE10 action following a 6-3 home win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Callum Welch recorded 30 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption won 43-of-71 faceoffs while also outshooting the opposition 43-33
- The Greyhounds went 2-for-4 on the man advantage, while the Ravens were scoreless on four attempts.
- Assumption now leads the all-time series 34-20-7.
