WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Franklin Pierce, as the Greyhounds recorded a 7-2 Northeast-10 Conference win Saturday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Gavin Dach opened the scoring, as he scored 55 seconds into the first period. Franklin Pierce tied the game at the 5:29 marker, but
Ronny Paragallo answered that at 18:16 of the opening frame, as the senior captain netted a short-handed tally.
Jake Lavoie opened up the second period with another short-handed goal, putting the hosts up 3-1. The Greyhounds would net back-to-back goals by
Jonathan Surrette and Lavoie, pushing the hosts lead to 5-1. In the third period,
Jake DiNapoli extended the Assumption advantage to five goals at 7:31, before Franklin Pierce scored in the final minute. DiNapoli tacked on a final goal with 0.9 on the game clock, setting the final score at 7-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Thomas McLarnon recorded 32 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 35-34 while going 2-of-3 on the powerplay and kept Franklin Pierce scoreless on four attempts.
- The Greyhounds have won seven-straight games against Northeast-10 Conference opponents.
- Assumption now leads the all-time series 35-20-7.
