WORCESTER, Mass.—For the second time in five days, the Assumption University men's ice hockey team saw a defenseman score a game-winning goal in overtime. This time,
Shane McElhaney potted the game-winner, giving the Greyhounds a 3-2 win over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at the Worcester Ice Center on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
UMass Dartmouth was the first team to strike, as Collin Patterson opened the scoring at 6:59 of the first period while on the power play.
Ronny Paragallo tied the game up at 13:27, as she scored off the feed from
Jake Lavoie. The Corsairs regained the lead early into the second period, as Brandon Clark tallied a short-handed goal at 2:15. The Greyhounds tied the game before the end of the second, as
Leo Piandes scored with 1:13 remaining in the middle period.
After a scoreless third period,
Shane McElhaney scored the game-winner for the Greyhounds, as the freshman defender scored with 1:25 remaining in the overtime period.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Hauswirth logged 24 saves in the crease for the Hounds.
- Assumption outshot UMass Dartmouth 47-26 while also winning 36-of-68 faceoffs.
- The Corsairs scored once on the man advantage, going 1-for-4, while the Greyhounds were scoreless on four attempts.
- Ronny Paragallo had a hand in every goal for the Hounds on the evening, extending his streak to 13 points over the last six games.
- UMass Dartmouth leads the all-time series, 43-18-3.
