PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.—The Assumption University volleyball team lost on the road in a gritty 3-2 match against Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS:
Score: Pace University 3, Assumption University 2
Records: Greyhounds (8-14, 3-5 NE10), Setters (11-8, 5-3 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Greyhounds battled through the opening set, out-chanced by the Setters. However, nine errors in the set proved too costly for Pace, and Assumption took it 25-21. The Setters rallied back in sets two and three, winning 25-15 and 25-11, respectively. The Hounds put up a mighty fight in the fourth, taking the set 25-16 to send the match into the fifth set. After Assumption went up 2-0 in the final set, Pace strung together two four-point runs and ultimately took the set 15-8. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

• Carley Goodhue led the team in kills with 14.
• Anna Dean and Alexis Distasio each racked up nine kills.
• Kaitlyn Montgomery had four blocks on the afternoon.
• Marissa Krawczyk assisted 24 Greyhound points.
• Assumption trails the all-time series against Pace 4-23
