WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team swept their Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Awards, while men's basketball snagged an NE10 Rookie of the Week Honor, as announced by the NE10 Conference office on Monday afternoon.
NE10 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
Zee McCown, Assumption

McCown continues to have a solid freshman campaign, as the point guard led the Greyhounds to a pair of wins over two Charger teams. He opened the week with nine points, four rebounds, and four assists in Assumption's 69-59 come-from-behind win against the University of New Haven. The Hounds trailed by double-digits in the second half to win by ten. In 30 minutes at Dominican (N.Y.), the freshman guard recorded 16 points, three rebounds, and six assists on 70.0 percent shooting in Assumption's 98-81 road win. On the week, McCown averaged 12.5 points on 61% shooting from the field.
NE10 Men's Ice Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week
Shane McElhaney, Assumption

McElhaney recorded four points, including his first collegiate goal in two games this week. On Tuesday, he recorded an assist on the game-tying goal before scoring the game-winner in overtime as the Greyhounds defeated UMass Dartmouth 3-2. McElhaney capped off the week with two assists in Assumption's game against Johnson & Wales (R.I.). As a whole, he was a +4.

Hauswirth picked up his first win of the year as the senior goalie logged 24 saves in an overtime win over UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday evening.
