MANSFIELD, Mass. – Bentley was selected as the favorite by the league's head coaches ahead of the 2024 NE10 Swimming & Diving Championship on the women's side, according to the Pre-Championship Poll released Tuesday afternoon.
Bentley was the 2023 runner-up and finished with 47 points and five first-place votes, finishing just in front of reigning champion Southern Connecticut, who had 44 total points and three first-place votes. The Owls have won the last three titles, and the Falcons have been the runner-up at the previous two championships.
Assumption landed in third with 36 points, while Pace was fourth with 31 points. Saint Michael's finished in fifth with 22 points, while Adelphi and Saint Rose were tallied at sixth and seventh with 18 and 16 points, respectively. The College of Staten Island rounded out the poll with ten votes.
The 2024 NE10 Swimming & Diving Championship is set to begin on Thursday evening, Feb. 15, at the WPI Sports and Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass. The four-day event will continue through Sunday evening, Feb. 18. Spectators are allowed to start entering 45 minutes before the start time on Thursday and Friday night (5:15 p.m.) and one hour before Saturday and Sunday (9:15 a.m.).
