WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University swimming and diving team wrapped up the first day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships Thursday evening at the WPI Sports & Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Assumption women began the championship with a fourth-place finish in the women's 800-yard freestyle relay, as the grouping of Jenna Swist, Savina Villani, Isabella Smith, and Caroline McKay finished the relay in 7:55.09. In the second heat, the quartet of Lindsey Downer, Melanie Robertson, Giulia Faulkner, and Emma Kates finished at 8:22.78.
On the men's side, Andrew Keenan, Colin Brewer, Liam Goodlett, and Sean Leary finished the 800-yard free in seventh place, with their time of 7:27.05.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, Emma Kates took eighth, with her time of 11:09.30, and Lindsey Downer finished 12th (11:38.62.
