HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption jumped out to an early 8-2 lead as the Greyhounds capitalized on four Franklin Pierce turnovers in the first five minutes. The Blue and White would take advantage of the paint, scoring six of their eight points in the key. Following the first-quarter media timeouts, the Ravens slowly chipped away at the deficit and got within two with a pair of free throws from Anna Badosa Soler at the 3:37 mark. From that point, the Greyhounds closed out the first quarter on a 7-5 run fueled by five points from Teagan Curran to give Assumption a 16-11 lead after one.

Franklin Pierce began the second quarter with an eight-foot jumper from Colette Mulderig, making it 16-13 Greyhounds, but Assumption responded with a 9-0 run that spanned 3:15 to go up 25-13. Badosa Soler answered with six-straight points to cut the Franklin Pierce deficit to 25-19 to force a timeout from the assumption bench at the 3:38 marker. The two defenses clamped down in the final two minutes, but Assumption got baskets from Molly Stokes and Maeve Moriarty, giving the Greyhounds a 29-21 lead heading into the break.

Coming out of halftime, Franklin Pierce began to hit their shots, cutting the deficit down to four at 30-26 with 7:04 remaining in the third quarter. The two teams continued to trade baskets until the media timeout at 3:05, with Assumption holding on to a 34-30 advantage. Down the stretch, Assumption would close out the quarter strong, outscore Franklin Pierce 5-1 over the final 3:20, and head into the fourth up 39-31.

The Greyhounds started fast, pushing their lead to 11 points following a layup from Molly Stokes. A three-pointer by Teagan Curran gave Assumption a 44-33 advantage. The two teams would continue to trade buckets over the next few minutes, but a Marina Callahan driving layup with 4:41 left in regulation pushed the Blue and White lead to 13 (51-38) and forced a timeout by the Franklin Pierce bench. The Ravens responded, coming out of the timeout with four quick points. Still, Assumption's NCAA experience shined in the final three minutes, as they pulled away to defeat FPU 58-43 to take advantage of the Division II East Regional Semifinals for the second consecutive season.
