BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Assumption University baseball team scored two runs in the top of the 10
th inning to win 5-3 over the University of Bridgeport Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Records: Greyhounds (6-13, 0-2 NE10), Purple Knights (4-18, 2-3 CACC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to score, as
Max Lefrancois drew a bases-loaded walk to plate
Christopher Manzo in the top of the second inning.
Matthew Holbrook scored later in the frame, as
Owen Podolec reached on a fielder's choice, making it 2-0 Greyhounds. The Purple Knights got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning, as Jeremy Rodrigues drove in Jake Woods with a double down the left field line.
The Blue and White regained a two-run advantage in the top of the eighth inning, as
Jack Barry drove in
Christopher Rabias with an RBI single to left field. Bridgeport would not go quietly, as they scored two runs in the bottom half of the frame to tie the game and send the contest to extra innings.
In the tenth inning, Barry struck again as he doubled home Podolec with a shot down the right field line.
Sean Moynihan plated Barry with an RBI single to center field to push the Greyhounds' advantage to 5-3. In the bottom half of the frame, the hosts would threaten with runners on the corners, but
Ryan Cloutier ended the game with a strikeout.
Evan Remington got the start for Assumption, as the freshman tossed 5.0 innings, allowed four hits, and struck out five. Cloutier recorded the win, as he pitched the final 1.1 innings, where he didn't allow a run and had one strikeout.
