Baseball topped by Southern Connecticut in Florida

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. – The Assumption University baseball team fell to Southern Connecticut State University in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the Santaluces Sports Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Connecticut started the game fast, plating six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Assumption got on the board in the top of the fourth, as Jamison Howland and Max LaFrancois recorded RBI base knocks, cutting the deficit to 6-3. 
 
It was all Owls from there on out. They responded with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the fifth to go up 16-3. SCSU tacked on four more runs, two in the seventh and two in the eighth, to take the game 20-3.
