MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Assumption University baseball team dropped a 4-3 decision to Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference action Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was a pitcher's duel for the early innings, as neither team threatened until the bottom of the fourth inning. After retiring the first nine batters of the game for the Penmen,
Griffin O'Connor allowed back-to-back singles to the Penmen to plate the game's first run.
The Greyhounds struck for two runs in the top of the fifth inning, as
Matthew Holbrook and
Jamison Howland came around to score for Assumption, giving the visitors a 2-1 advantage. Southern New Hampshire answered in the bottom of the fifth as Harry Vargas Segura hit a two-run home run to left field.
Southern New Hampshire carried a 3-2 lead into the top of the eighth inning, but
Jack Barry came through for the Greyhounds. He drove a single through the right side of the infield, scoring
Cody Smith from second with two outs in the frame. SNHU would eventually walk off in the bottom of the ninth, as Vargas Segura singled through the left side of the infield with two outs, scoring Anderson Moreno from third on the play.
