Klein walks off nightcap to earn the sweep of Pace

WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption University baseball ended the weekend on a high note, as the Greyhounds picked up a pair of Northeast-10 wins over Pace University Sunday afternoon. The Hounds took game one 6-1 before walking off game two 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – Assumption University 6, Pace University 1
Assumption jumped out to an early lead, as they plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Chris Klein had a two-RBI single to center field before Cody Smith laced a line drive past the third baseman, scoring Owen Podolec. 
 
After Pace scored one run in the top of the fourth, the Greyhounds answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth. Jamison Howland hit a double to right center field before scoring on a sacrifice fly to right field. Jack Barry joined the scoring with a solo home run to left center field. 
 
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Christopher Manzo doubled home Matthew Holbrook from first base, pushing the Greyhounds' lead to 6-1. Evan Remington picked up his first win, pitching 7.0 innings with two strikeouts and no earned runs. 

GAME TWO – Assumption University 3, Pace University 2
Assumption was the first team to get on the board, as Christopher Rabias drove in Cody Smith with a sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the fourth. Pace eventually got on the scoreboard at the top of the sixth, as they plated two runs. 

The game would head to the bottom of the seventh, with Pace leading 2-1. Christopher Manzo led off the frame with a single through the left side of the infield, followed by a wild pitch and walk; Podolec laced a single to right field, plating one, with Max LeFrancois making it to third. After a steal of second by Podolec, Chris Klein walked it off for the Greyhounds with a base knock to deep center field. 
 
Griffin O'Connor earned the win after going the distance with two runs and five strikeouts.
