WALTHAM, Mass. – The Assumption University baseball team recorded a 7-5 win in Waltham as they held off Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday afternoon at Robert Defelice Baseball Field

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bentley was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as they plated one run in the bottom of the second. The Greyhounds responded in the top of the fourth, as they struck for three runs.
Sean Moynihan tied the game with an RBI single to right field before
Christopher Rabias scored on a wild pitch.
Jamison Howland capped off the scoring for Assumption with an RBI single to second.
The Greyhounds continued to extend their lead as the game went to the top of the fifth.
Jack Barry drove in
Cody Smith before scoring on a Moynihan single to right field. Rabias pushed the Assumption lead to 7-1 in the top of the sixth with a two-RBI single to left center. Bentley closed the gap in the bottom of the seventh as they plated two runs in the frame, cutting the deficit to 7-3. The Falcons continued to chip away at the Greyhounds' advantage with two runs in the bottom of the eighth, making it 7-5 through eight complete.
Evan McCarthy came into the game and allowed a lead-off single but retired the next three batters via strikeout, strikeout, and a flyout to center to slam the door shut for the Greyhounds.
Kyle Keating went 6.0 innings, scattering five hits and striking out eight to earn the win, while
Evan McCarthy earned the save, as he struck out a pair in 1.1 innings of action.
