Baseball falls to Franklin Pierce on Senior Day

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University baseball team had their Senior Day spoiled by Franklin Pierce University, falling to the Ravens 9-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Franklin Pierce was the first team to strike, plated one run in the top of the second with an RBI single by Eli Battipaglia to left field. The Ravens continued to extend their lead, plating one run in the third and sixth before plating four runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth. 
 
Assumption first threatened in the bottom of the fifth, as Sean Moynihan led off the frame with a double to left center, but he could not advance from there. In the bottom of the sixth, the Greyhounds got runners on the corners with just one out, but a strikeout and a lineout held the hosts scoreless.
