WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team fell on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 17-8 decision to No. 4 Adelphi University in Northeast-10 Conference action at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to score, as
Cameron Theriault got the Greyhounds on the board at 11:46. Adelphi answered two minutes later to tie the game, but the two teams traded the next few goals over the next few minutes.
Ryan Healey struck with 12 seconds remaining in the first quarter, giving the hosts a 5-3 lead after 15 minutes.
Adelphi opened the second quarter on the attack, as they outscored Assumption 5-1 in the frame to take an 8-6 advantage. Healey scored the lone Greyhounds goal in the frame with eight seconds remaining before halftime.
In the second half, the Panthers' defense limited Assumption to just one goal in each of the remaining quarters, and the visiting Adelphi team came away with a 17-8 decision.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Colin Malone and James Lopes combined to record 14 saves in the crease.
- Ryan Healey led the Greyhounds with three goals and four points, while Ryan Bogar paced the team with three assists.
- Adelphi outshot Assumption 52-37, while the Greyhounds won 20-of-29 faceoffs.
- Nick Polymeros dominated the faceoff circle, recording 20 wins and a game-high 14 ground balls.
