PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team could not complete the comeback, falling to No. 10 Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Setters scored fast and often in the first quarter, racing out to an early 4-0 lead before
Ryan Bogar got Assumption on the board with 16 seconds remaining. Pace would answer immediately, as they bookend the first quarter break with goals from Declan Landers and Ryan Kemp.
Ryan Healey began the second quarter hot, scoring back-to-back goals to get the Greyhounds within three (6-3). The hosts replied with three consecutive strikes before
Patrik McGrath had the final goal of the first half with 21 seconds on the clock.
The third quarter was all Greyhounds, as
Sam Maciel, McGrath, and Healey combined for five goals and one assist to cut the deficit to two goals (11-9) heading into the fourth quarter of action.
In the fourth quarter, the two teams traded the first few goals, but the No. 6 nationally ranked offense pulled away down the stretch and picked up a 16-11 decision.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Colin Malone recorded 15 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Patrik McGrath had a game-high five goals while adding one assist. Ryan Healey added three goals and one assist.
- Pace outshot Assumption 49-41, while the Setters won 19-of-29 faceoffs.
- Pace leads the all-time series 16-5.
