SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Assumption University baseball team's rally came up short, as the Greyhounds would fall 6-4 to American International College in Northeast-10 Conference action Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds scored in the top of the second, as
Jamison Howland drove in
Christopher Rabias with a two-out, bases-loaded single to right field. The Yellow Jackets answered in the bottom of the third inning and plated two runs in the frame. American International extended their lead with two runs in the fourth and one more in the sixth and the seventh to go up 6-1.
Assumption closed the game in the top of the eighth, plated three runs in the frame.
Chris Klein scored on a balk, and
Cody Smith and
Jack Barry scored on wild pitches. The game would head to the top of the ninth inning, where the Greyhounds would get a runner on with just one in the frame, but the Yellow Jackets' reliever got a game-ending double play to complete the season sweep for American International.
