ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Assumption University women's soccer team used a pair of second-half goals to surge past Eckerd College, 2-0, in non-conference action Friday evening at Johnson Field to remain undefeated.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, Assumption broke through in the 70th minute when freshman
Natalie Matz scored the first goal of her college career to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead. Just ten minutes later,
Rose Connolly doubled the advantage, finding the back of the net off an assist from
Wendy Jacobi in the 80th minute—the Hound's defense held firm, securing their second shutout of the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Frida Larsson made six saves to record her second shutout of the year.
- Eckerd outshot Assumption 14-8, but the Greyhounds were more efficient, with seven of their eight shots on target compared to six for the Tritons.
- The Hounds have been off to their best start of a season since the 2017 campaign when they began 4-0-0.
- With both goals coming in the second half, the Blue and White have now scored 13 of their 15 goals in the final 45 minutes of the contest.
- The hosts held a slight edge in corner kicks, 6-4.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 1-0-0
