WORCESTER, Mass. – Haleigh Ward's two-goal performance lifted the Assumption University women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Maine Fort Kent. The Greyhounds remain unbeaten, improving their record to 5-0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption took an early lead in the 24th minute when
Haleigh Ward scored her first goal of the game, a one-touch shot assisted by
Rachael Geniuch. Much of the first half was controlled by the Blue and White, outshooting the visiting Bengals 13-0 in the first half.
The Greyhounds extended their advantage early in the second half, with
Haley Brown netting a goal in the 51st minute. Just four minutes later, Ward scored her second goal of the match, bringing her season total to six, the most in the NE10 conference.
Maine Fort Kent found the back of the net in the 60th minute with a goal off a wonderful shot by Petagay Dixon, but the Hound's defense held strong for the remainder of the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Assumption outshot Maine Fort Kent 28-5, with 11 shots on goal compared to three for Maine Fort Kent.
- The Greyhounds earned 11 corner kicks, while Maine Fort Kent managed only one.
- Senior goalkeeper Kaylah Seavey made her season debut, recording a shutout in the first half and earning the win. Isabelle Provost entered in the second half, making her season debut as well.
- With Ward's two goals, Assumption leads the NE10 conference with 19 goals in six games.
- The Greyhounds now lead the all-time series against the Bengals 1-0-1.
