MANCHESTER, N.H. – Despite a second-half goal from Haleigh Ward, Assumption University fell 2-1 to No. 8 Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer matchup at Penmen Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern New Hampshire opened the scoring in the seventh minute, with Alyssa Anderson finding the back of the net off an assist from Georgia Greene. The Penmen doubled their lead in the 29th minute when Nida Orloff scored low-left, this time it was Anderson with the assist.

The Greyhounds pushed late in the second half. Haleigh Ward struck for Assumption, converting a pass from Shannon Fitzsimmons to bring the match within one. Despite the late momentum, the Penmen defense held on for the win.

• Southern New Hampshire outshot Assumption 21-3, with a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal.
• The Penmen earned nine corner kicks to Assumption's four.
• Greyhound goalkeeper Frida Larsson made five saves, while SNHU's Cassie Keith recorded one.
