THE BASICS
Score: Assumption University 6
Records: Greyhounds (0-1, 0-0 NE10) | Golden Bears (1-0, 0-0 PSAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Kutztown was the first team to score, as the Golden Bear's quarterback took the readoption 80 yards for a touchdown on the host's first drive of the game. After a short drive by the Greyhounds, the Golden Bears drove 77 yards on eight plays, but a bad snap on a field goal attempt set up Assumption with the ball on their 20-yard line. The Hounds would get a second chance, as the Gabriel Bertolazzo
punt bounced off of a Kutztown defender, setting up the Blue and White with the ball at midfield.

Sophomore quarterback Jay Kastantin led a Greyhounds' drive that lasted 11 plays and 54 yards, capped off by a four-yard run by Kameron Robbins, which got Assumption on the board. The Golden Bears responded with a 6:50 – 15-play drive, which was capped off by a four-yard touchdown pass to the tight end, leaving 1:13 remaining in the half.

Kutztown opened the second half with a 25-yard field goal, pushing their lead to 17-3 halfway through the third quarter. For the remainder of the third quarter, neither offense could establish any momentum, as only one drive surpassed ten yards.

The Golden Bears added to their lead five minutes into the fourth quarter, as a strip sack by the hosts extended the advantage to 24-6. Kutztown's defense continued to stymie the Greyhounds' offense, and the reigning PSAC champions held on for a 24-6 win.
