WINCHENDON, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team dropped their first game in 2025, as the Greyhounds fell to Franklin Pierce University in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Friday evening at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After Franklin Pierce opened the game by scoring three goals on five shots in the first period, despite Assumption outshooting the hosts 16-8 in the opening frame, the Greyhounds attempted to come back, as they outshot FPU 26-12 in the remainder of the contest.
Jenna Chaplain opened the third period with her fifth goal of the year, with
Rachel Agerter picking up the assist on the strike. The Hounds would be unable to complete the comeback, as they would have their six NEWHA point streak snapped.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Carissa Mudrak logged 17 saves for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 42-20, winning 34-of-61 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were the only team to score on the powerplay, as they were 1-for-7, while the Ravens were scoreless on their only opportunity.
- Franklin Pierce leads the all-time series 5-1-1.
