WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team had their three-game winning streak snapped, as the Greyhounds were blanked 2-0 by Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Michael's was the first team to score, as Jack Macdonald opened the scoring at 13:30 of the first period. The Purple Knights scored an insurance goal at 3:44 in the second period, as Ty Bloom scored on a power play. Despite firing 69 shots in the contest, the Greyhounds would not be able to beat the Saint Michael's netminder and would fall 2-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Callum Welch logged 35 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 40-37, while the two teams split the 70 faceoffs.
- The Purple Knights were the only team to score on the powerplay, as they were 1-for-4, while the Greyhounds were 0-for-6.
- This was the first time Assumption had been shut out since Feb. 10, 2023, when the Greyhounds fell at Saint Michael's College 4-0.
- Saint Michael's still leads the all-time series 43-31-3.
