HOOKSETT, N.H.— Despite a pair of goals from
Jonathan Surrette, the Assumption University men's ice hockey team fell to Southern New Hampshire University 3-2 in overtime Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Southern New Hampshire was the first team to score, as Austin Hirschberger scored just past the two-minute mark of the opening period. Assumption breakthrough in the tail end of the first, as
Jonathan Surrette scored on a powerplay with a turnaround shot from the slot.
After a scoreless second period, SNHU regained the lead just past the halfway mark of the third, as Kyle Slinderland netted a power play goal. With their goalie pulled in at the final minute of regulation, Surrette found the back of the net for the second time on the day, as the sophomore scored with seven seconds on the scoreboard, tying the game at 2-2. The game would head into an overtime session, where Ryan Kayser scored the game-winner for the Penmen.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Thomas McLarnon logged 34 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Southern New Hampshire outshot Assumption 36-33 while also winning 39-of-75 faceoffs.
- Both teams struck on the man advantage, as the Greyhounds were 1-for-5, while the Penmen went 1-for-4.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 43-42-5.
