WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team dropped their fourth straight game, as the Greyhounds closed out non-conference action with a 4-0 loss to Western New England University Tuesday evening at the Olympic Ice Center
THE BASICS:

Records: Greyhounds (10-12-0, 7-5-0 NE10) | Golden Bears (5-10-1, 1-7-1 CNE)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Despite being outshot 17-6 in the opening frame, Western New England held a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes, as Matt Hamacher scored the contest's first goal at the 11:46 mark. The Golden Bear added two more scores in the second period, as Justin Sullivan and Jake Mendeszoon struck for the hosts. Everest Schneider added a short-handed tally in the third period to make the final score 4-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Hauswirth recorded 18 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds
- Assumption outshot Western New England 43-22, while the Golden Bears won 28-of-55 faceoffs.
- Neither side scored on the powerplay, as the Hounds were 0-for-7, and WNEU was 0-for-2.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 24-6.
