PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.— The Assumption University women's basketball team's comeback would come up short at Pace University, as the Hounds would fall 67-61 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Pace started fast, fueled by eight points in the opening ten minutes by Katumina Mansaray; the Setters held a 14-13 lead by the end of the first quarter. The hosts would extend their lead in the second quarter, as their lead would stretch to six points, but a
Teagan Curran driving layup with 19 seconds remaining would send the teams into halftime, with Pace leading 32-28.
Coming out of the break, the two teams would trade baskets, but Assumption would get within two points multiple times but could not tie the game in the frame and would head into the final quarter down six (49-43). The Greyhounds attempted their second-straight comeback in the fourth quarter, but the Setters answered every Assumption bucket for a 67-61 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Marina Callahan had a game-high 21 points while adding eight rebounds, two assists, four blocks, and one steal in 33 minutes.
- Assumption outrebounded Pace 33-27 while outscoring the hosts 18-5 on second-chance points.
- The Setters shot 51.7 percent (30-for-58) from the field, while the Greyhounds shot at a 43.4 percent clip (23-53).
- Pace leads the all-time series 18-16.
