WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team snapped a five-game losing skid with authority, thumping the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts 7-2 in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
MCLA was the first team to strike, as Luke Rhoss opened the scoring at the 4:14 mark. Assumption bounced back as
Daniel Lemanski struck on the powerplay before
Braeden McKenzie potted his first collegiate tally with a shot from the point, one minute after Lemanski.
Jake DiNapoli opened the middle frame with an even-strength goal before
Leo Piandes capitalized on the power play, making it 4-1 Greyhounds. After Christopher Gallagher scored on a short-handed opportunity, Lemanski struck again, making it 5-2 through 40 minutes.
The third period saw the Hounds tack on two more scores as
Ronny Paragallo found the back of the net, and
Nick Fall tapped in Assumption's seventh tally. Assumption would hold on for a 7-2 home win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Hauswirth logged 30 saves in the win for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot MCLA 51-32, while also winning 51-of-76 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds converted twice on five power-play opportunities, while the Trailblazers were scoreless on eight chances.
- Ronny Paragallo and Daniel Lemanski combined for three goals and five assists, while 13 players recorded a point.
- This was the first meeting between the two programs.
