WORCESTER, Mass. – For the first time since January 22, 2013, the Assumption University men's basketball team has appeared in the national rankings. The Greyhounds cracked the rankings at No. 24 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II coaches' poll, Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (11-2, 6-0 NE10) are in the national poll for the first time since the January 22, 2013 poll, where they were ranked No. 16. They are riding an 11-game winning streak, which dates back to Nov. 13, 2024. Assumption ranks in the top 25 in rebounds per game (23
rd – 41.08) and three-point defense (24
th – 29.5) while also topping the Northeast-10 Conference in scoring with 84.8 points per game.
Daouda Dembele (11.3) and
Njavan Stewart (11.1) are the only two players who average more than 10 points per game, while eight other players average 5+ points.
Baril Mawo leads the way on the glass for the Hounds, as the junior pulls down 7.4 boards per game, while Dembele (5.9) and Taysehawn Cunningham-Pemberton (5.6) average five a game. The duo of
Zee McCown (3.9) and
Noah Payne (3.2) power the Assumption offense, while nine players average more than one assist a game.
Men's Basketball returns home for the first time in 2025, as they will host Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday, January 8
th, at 7:30 pm.
